വേദസന്ദേശം

ഇന്ദ്രം മിത്രം വരുണമഗ്നിമാഹുരഥോ ദിവ്യഃ സ സുപർണോ ഗരുത്മാൻ । ഏകം സദ് വിപ്രാ ബഹുധാ വദന്ത്യഗ്ഗ്നിം യമം മാതരിശ്വാനമാഹു: || (അഥർവ്വവേദം 9/10/28)

ഈ മന്ത്രത്തിൽ അനേകം നാമങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു-
ഇന്ദ്രൻ = അത്യന്തം ഐശ്വര്യശാലിയായ പരമാത്മാവ്.
മിത്രൻ = എല്ലാവരെയും സഹായിക്കുന്ന, എല്ലാവരെയും പ്രീതിപ്പെടുന്ന പരമാത്മാവ്.
അഗ്നി = ജ്ഞാനസ്വരൂപനായ സർവ്വവ്യാപിയായ എല്ലാം അറിയുന്ന യോഗ്യനായ ചേതനസ്വരൂപമായ പരമാത്മാവ്.
ദിവ്യൻ = പ്രകാശമയനും, ആകൃഷ്ട ഗുണങ്ങളുള്ള ദേവനായ പരമാത്മാവ്.
സുപർണൻ = മനോഹരമായി പിന്തുടരുന്ന ശക്തനായ പരമാത്മാവ്.
ഗരുത്മാൻ = മഹാനായ ആത്മാവുള്ളവൻ
യമൻ = ന്യായകാരിയും ജഗത്തിനെ നിയന്ത്രിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന പരമാത്മാവ്.

Many names of God have been mentioned in this mantra also – Indra = extremely affluent God, Mitra = God who helps everyone, loves everyone, Agni = omnipresent knowable animate God in the form of knowledge, Divya = luminous, God with excellent qualities, Supreme God = beautifully maintained. God who is powerful and capable of doing, Garutman = God with a great soul, Yama = God who controls the world with justice.
